Cape Atlantic Woodturners Newsletter

Volume #2, Issue #10
Subject: Club Minutes 10/16/2012

The following members attended October 16th night's meeting: Tom Henry, Bob Broschart, Betty Campbell, Jeff Schnell, Doug James, Gerald Bruman, and Carlos, who is a student from Tom Henry's class.

The meeting basically was just Show and Tell and a discussion by Tom Henry on a club project called "The Freedom Pens Project." His goal is to sponsor a Freedom Pen Project Day to introduce wood turning to the general public and make pens for the military. He would like to partner with the Cape May County Technical School and the N.J. National Guard in CMCH. We would seek sponsors to provide funding for the pen kits and refreshments. Tom will follow through with the school and Guard and let us know the results at our next meeting.

Gerald Bruman described a huge antique band saw he bought, which came in pieces so will need assembling. Some of the parts are missing and Gerald is hoping the seller will locate them. Gerald certainly does things in a big way. Hopefully we will see a picture of it some day.

Many thanks to those who brought in some beautiful items for Show and Tell.
