Cape Atlantic Woodturners Newsletter
Volume #2, Issue #11
Subject: Club Minutes 11/20/2012
The following members attending were John Andrews, Ron Befferman, Tom Henry, Doug James, Les Kelly, Gerald Bruman, Betty Campbell, Jeff Schnell, Alan Tasoff ,Arthur Bichsel, Shirley Hill and J. D. Yubchaint.
President Befferman showed his new turning tools he won in the Patriot Woodturning competition: Beautiful carbide tools made in America.
Some beautiful pieces were brought in for Show and Tell: Bowls, bowls and more bowls and a Pen. Gerald Bruman brought in a turned platter that was very creative and unique. He used seashells for a decorative touch. Beautifully done.
Arthur Bichsel demonstrated sharpening techniques for various drill bits and cutting tools. Much time and effort went into his demo.
We were treated to the sharpening of Twist, Spade, Forstner and Greeley Bits as well as Blades for Circular, Chain, and Hand Saws.
Who knew it only takes a few minutes to bring several drill bits back to life. Everyone appreciates Arthur sharing his talents with us. Just remember, 59 degrees for each leg of the drill and you are ALMOST guaranteed a sharp bit. We all got a new file to take home and practice our new hobby.
We thank you, Arthur, for all you do.
