Subject: Club Minutes 3/15/2016

Another gathering of the gurus has come to order by President Bruman with a swift and authoritative "BANG" of the imaginary gavel. First order was a demonstration by Doug James, how to hollow a vessel. As any good teacher would do he also demonstrated how NOT to do it. It was a very thorough lesson we will all remember for years to come. Doug showed various ways to attack the hollowing process in case of any number of circumstances that may arise. Using a hollowing jig he was able to do a great job with minimal effort.

Betty Campbell ran the raffle. The way she was able to quickly count, separate, and tear off those tickets makes one wonder if she was a carney in her early days as a child. There were many blocks of wood to choose from along with a gift certificate from a tool manufacturer. Not sure of the amount raised, Betty was still counting at the close of the meeting.

As a surprise, next month President Bruman will attempt to turn a frozen cotton candy into a candle stick. If he fails we can still eat his mistakes.

Doug returned to complete the hollowed vessel, it sure helps to have someone demonstrate who knows what they're doing. Thanks to Doug for his efforts and time for showing us how it's done.

This meeting seemed to spin by faster than a runaway lathe, we all hope everyone enjoyed the demo and doesn't leave with a chip on their shoulder.

In attendance was Gerald Bruman, Doug James, John Andrews, Hugh O'Donnell, Betty Campbell, Alan Tasoff, Bob Broschart, Art Miller and Dan Takayama.

Your skirt less secretary,

John Andrews
