A word from our outgoing President:
We had a great turnout and some great food last night. Unfortunately, we forgot to take a group photo. I gave my farewell speech and acknowledged the club members who were very helpful to me and to the club throughout my term. I am hopeful someone will take the initiative and step forward to accept the duties of the presidency. Perhaps the position of president (and vice president) could be on a rotation basis for six months or one year. If you have any thoughts or suggestions, do a "reply all". AAW requires all clubs to have a president, VP and treasurer. Wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. You will be hearing from Arthur Bichsel regarding the January workshop to be held at the Vo-Tech.
The December 17, 2013 meeting of the A.A.W. was called to order by outgoing president Ron Befferman at 7:06 pm. This being his majesty's last ruling event, he really let 'em have it.... Ron thanked select members for their help over the past year arranging workshops, updating the website and newsletter among other related items that made his job just about useless But for that and other duties we all applauded him for his time and efforts over the years. The meeting was adjourned early because Alan was eating all the deviled eggs before anyone else had any at all. Everyone contributed to the annual hoot by bringing something to eat or drink so as soon as the gavel fell it was a stampede over top of our past president Ron something or other for the goodies. It gave everyone an opportunity to talk with each other with their mouths full. It was just delightful. We missed Bob Broschart who is still recuperating but his lovely wife Grace was there to make sure we didn't talk bad about him. She carries a mean baseball bat turned by Bob himself. Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening more and more as the wine became less and less. Thanks to Tom Cambria for bringing in their home made wine. We all went home happy.
January will be a workshop at the tech school, everyone will be turning a wine goblet. How appropriate and timely. Arthur Bichsel is organizing the event, so everyone is expected to be on time, proper attire, face shields down and bring their own wine to test their goblets. Thank you all for an interesting year full of information, amazing show and tells, & demo's.
Lastly a great party to end the year. A safe Christmas season to all and a healthy and happy New Year.
